De Por un Mundo Accesible
[editar] Bienvenido/a al wiki del proyecto Un mundo Accesible
Según algunos estudios, sólo una de cada dos personas con discapacidad residentes en latinoamérica ha completado la Educación Básica, una de cada ocho ha cursado Educación Media Diversificada completa y sólo una de cada veinte personas con discapacidad ha logrado acceder a la educación superior. La creación de tecnología accesible (hardware y software) facilitará el acceso de estas personas no sólo a la tecnología, sino también a la sociedad, de allí que surge el proyecto Un mundo accesible integrado por diferentes grupos de usuarios, personas independientes y todo aquel que quiera colaborar, ¡tu también eres bienvenido!.
Este proyecto, de desarrollo de tecnología para dignificar la vida de las personas con algún tipo de discapacidad (visual, auditiva, del habla, motora, mental, entre otras) se visualizó en varias etapas, en una primera etapa se desarrollarán soluciones basadas en tecnologías Libres (software y hardware) para las personas con discapacidad visual. Es por ello que hablamos de tiflotecnología, esta palabra proviene del griego, tiflo significa ciego y de esto entendemos que la tecnología aplicada al campo de la deficiencia visual recibe el nombre de tiflotecnología y posteriormente se irá trabajando con el resto de las discapacidades.

According to some studies, only one of every two Latin American residents with disabilities have completed Basic Education (High School), only one of every eight has completed a curriculum of Diversified Media Education, and only one of every twenty persons with disability has managed to enter higher education at the university level. The creation of accessibility technology (hardware and software) eases the access for these persons, not only to the technology, but also into the society at large; from this came the impetus for this project: An Accessible World, integrated by different users groups, independent persons and anyone else who wishes to collaborate, ¡You are welcome as well!
This project, dedicated to the development of technology to dignify the life of those persons with whatever type of disability (visual, auditory, speech, motor, mental, among others) is conceptualized in various stages; the first stage is the development of solutions based on free technologies (software and hardware) for persons with visual disability. That is the reason that we speak of tiflotechnology. This word, tiflo, from the Greek, signifies blind and from this we understand it to be technology applied to the field of visual deficiency called tiflotechnology. Later comes the work of applying technology to the rest of the disabilities.
